I have a love/hate relationship with food. (I love it, it hates me.) I try to stick to a low-fat diet because of various health issues, not because of any delusions of losing weight. I do enjoy going out to eat, but I really enjoy cooking. Not only is there a satisfaction in making a meal rather than reheating a frozen brick, but I get to control the ingredients.
I do tend to troll websites and cookbooks for new recipes and food ideas. I like to try new things though I am still a semi-picky eater. After I have done a recipe "by the book" a few times, then I love trying to tweak things.
I am divorced with two kids, two stepkids, and now I'm engaged to a woman who has a son. Her son lives with us, but my extended pack stays with us on the weekends. This means that during the week I try to find unique meals for our adventurous tastes, but then on the weekends I have to make larger meals for pickier palates.
This is the inspiration behind this website. What hits the mark and what misses? What is delicious and which is disastrous?
